These photographs by Debra St. John show participants marching, chanting, and holding banners and signs at the first Dyke March in San Francisco in June 1993. The march was organized by the San Francisco Lesbian Avengers following the huge success of the march coordinated by the chapter earlier that year in Washington, D.C. The Dyke Marches are the most visible legacy of the Lesbian Avengers, continuing to take place annually in cities across the globe.
