Description

Song of the South is a Disney Production that combines live-action and animation. It tells the story of Johnny who stays with his Grandmother on a Plantation in Georgia. There he meets Uncle Remus who uses animated tales to teach Johnny life lessons. The film is regarded as controversial due to its romanticized portrayal of plantation life and stereotypical depiction of Black characters. Disney has tried to erase this film by choosing to keep it off of Disney+.
