The 52nd edition of a monthly laser-printed Amateur Press Association focused solely on role-playing games. Alarums & Excursions collated individual pages and short zines produced by contributors on topics like game design, rules variants, and reviews, as well as any other topic so long as it can be linked to role-playing games, and distributed them via snail-mail. This issue, from December 1979, was released the same year as the AD&D Dungeon Masters Guide.
