Description

Comic book prepared with the scientific advice of Lt. Gen. Leslie R. Groves – director of the Manhattan Project –, Dr. John R. Dunning – the physicist who verified fission of the uranium atom – and Dr. Louis M. Heil. The comic book was created as an introduction to radioactivity and explained atomic structure as well as how to create a chain reaction. As an educational tool, beyond being included in the Atomic Energy Lab kit, it was largely distributed to children in middle and high school.
