Description
The Nintendo PlayStation is a never-released prototype console developed jointly by Nintendo and Sony between 1988 and 1991, intended to serve as a CD-ROM add-on for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Following the collapse of the partnership, the device was abandoned and largely erased from both companies' official histories, existing for decades only through rumour and fragmented documentation before a surviving prototype was rediscovered.
