Stilyagi, usually translated to mean "style hunters", were a Russian youth counterculture interested in Western fashion, music, and culture, are credited as the reason why bone music became such a popular back-alley industry. Hungry for the Western culture they were denied via legitimate means, they turned to illicit means.
