Description

Engraving by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria depicting the area around Gaza City during the late Ottoman period. Originally published in The Caravan Route between Egypt and Syria (1881), this illustration shows the landscape and architecture of Gaza, with the Omari Mosque visible among other features. Digitized from the British Library’s public domain collection, the image offers valuable visual evidence of the city’s 19th-century appearance and acts as a cultural and spatial record of the Omari Mosque’s history.
