The Descent of Man theory was also developed by Darwin in response to criticism on his theory of natural selection that his work didn't cover human evolution (The Descent of Man, 2025). This theory speaks to the way in which humans evolved from marine life as they are vertebrates (The Descent of Man, 2025).
