Description

This song was released in 2000 by Moscow-based duet t.A.T.u., followed by an English translated version in 2002. Lyrically, the song, whose Russian title translates to "I've Lost My Mind," is about a woman realizing she has fallen in love with another woman. The song was inspired by songwriter Elena Kiper, while undergoing a dental procedure, dreamt about kissing a woman and woke up saying the song's title phrase. While there is some debate over whether Kiper or Ivan Shapovalov conceived the idea of writing the song, the finished song was ultimately given to t.A.T.u., then managed by Shapovalov, to perform. The song initially accrued controversy due to people feeling the song was "gimmicky," with some concerns over queerbaiting due to neither singer being lesbian, with one of them even becoming pregnant by her boyfriend only a few years later. The music video for the song, however, would go on to become even more controversial (see item Я сошла с ума (music video) for more).
